Expectations have been high for Jared

Hasik.

His offensive power and pitching skill

have made him the go-to guy.

His combined efforts earned him the

AHHP Award at the State tournament.

The award, which stands for Attitude,

Hustle, Hustle and Pride, is selected by

the tournament commissioner.

“The director said our whole team was

very good with sportsmanship,” Hasik

said.

Hasik was five-for 12 at the plate with

two home runs and seven runs scored.

On the mound, he dominated,

pitching 10 innings during the

tournament and striking out 21 while

issuing five walks and only four hits.

Hasik was the winning pitcher in two

games to help the Rattlers win the state

tournament.

But Hasik didn’t highlight his own

efforts. He was happy his teammate,

Timothy Fitzgerald, was able to take

some of the pressure off.

“I like seeing the lead-off batter hit

home runs,” Hasik said. “That puts runs

on the board. When I strike out, I don’t

get down on myself when I know there

are runs on the board.”
