The Rattler 12-year-old team faced Emporia at 11 a.m. for the state championship, but both teams have already qualified for the Midwest Regional since South Dakota does not have a 70-foot base program.

The Rattlers survived a scare Saturday against Ottawa but won 7-6 in extra innings.

The Rattlers defeated Emporia 14-0 to advance to the championship game. Emporia battled back in the consolation bracket to force a rematch with the Rattlers for the title.

Jared Hasik won the MVP against Emporia, and Tim Fitzgerald won the WOW Award.
