Obituary

 

SUBLETTE – Fidel Montoya Sr., 68, died at his home in Porvenir, Mexico.

He was born April 24, 1941, to Heriberto and Candelaria (Gonzalez) Montoya in Porvenir, Chihuahua, Mexico.

He was a farm laborer.

He was a member of the Catholic Church.

Survivors include five sons, Fidel Montoya Jr., Sublette, Miguel Montoya, Sublette, Eddie Montoya, Kismet, David Montoya, Albuquerque, N.M., and Fabia Montoya, Denver; eight daughters, Araceli Montoya, Nashville, Rosa Vasquez, Harlingen, Texas, Jesenia Montoya, Kermit, Texas, Adrianna Montoya, Roswell, N.M., Yadira Hooper, Albuquerque, Amanda Montoya, Kermit, Sylivia Montoya, Kermit, and Anita Montoya, Roswell, N.M.; seven brothers, Juan Montoya, Colorado Springs, Colo., Gregorio Montoya of Mexico, Lorenzo Montoya, Mosco, Alfred Montoya, Sublette, Vicente Montoya of Texas, Felix Montoya of Mexico and Emilio Montoya of Sublette; two sisters, Cruz Santillan, Moscow, and Hilda Lechuga, Garden City; 41 grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Heriberto Montoya, and one sister, Abrahana Longoria.

o Vigil service will be at 5 p.m. Monday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Satanta.

A funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Satanta with Father Jim Dieker presiding.

Burial will be at the Haskell County Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday at Haskell County Funeral Home.
