With three open weights and several wrestlers participating in their first varsity dual, the Liberal Redskins suffered a 61-10 loss at Lamar, Colo., earlier this week.

Liberal had no wrestlers in the 103, 112 and 119 pound weight classes, which gave the Savages 18 points before a Redskin took the mat.

Seven wrestlers lost by pin and Cody Smith dropped a 13-7 decision and Benito Rivera dropped a 14-3 decision.

Carlos Rodriguez scored a victory with an 11-3 decision at the 171-pound weight class.

Justin McPhail earned a pin at 189.

Liberal is traveling to Garden City today.
